BIOGRAPHY

Valerie Cowie has studied Outdoor Education, Yoga with Pilates and most recently Applied Positive Psychology. Observation of self and others has also been her study.

She is not defined by being a guru or yogini, clinical psychologist or an extreme mountaineer. She is a woman in her 40’s (just) who survived a large family upbringing, the youngest of 5 and a triplet. Has travelled around the globe having colourful adventures and who is finding out what makes her have Duchenne smiles on a daily basis.

She is woman who is enjoying having meaning, pleasure and engagement; OLZ (Optimal Living Zone) in her eclectic life of choice.

She is constantly being reminded that life is full of choices, high levels of self awareness and a chosen attitude having a powerful daily impact. She works smart (teaching yoga and coaching using positive psychology constructs) lives lightly and relishes having a lot more questions than answers e.g. what am I willing to receive? Valerie was asked at the end of her yoga training in Australia what she wanted to take forward to the UK. Her answer was to de-mystify yoga and help individuals, organisations, partners, families and friends to walk taller, breathe deeper and feel stronger. She has built on that answer by visioning Glasgow (her home city) and Scotland to be synominous with health.
